2005-07-30 00:27:00 After having a new hard drive installed as my 'c' drive with the old one remaining
as the slave or 'd' drive I have been unable to access my original user account (on the 'd' drive). Is this because I had a password for that administrator account which should possibly have been removed before installing the new drive? I am unable to change the sharing settings by right clicking on the account, properties etc. The root folder opens to show the sub folders but I am denied access to all of them. :help:

2005-07-30 09:44:00 The MS site was spot on! I have ownership of all files. Next problem is that I cannot import my old email files. I have tried importing them from the backup copied from a cd but they are not recognised as pst files. Is there some way of viewing the outlook file in explorer so I can use the right path to these old email files on my original hard drive? I dont seem to see it there. :badpc: Richart (8624)
2005-07-30 09:54:00 Have you tried removing the Read Only attribute from the files off the CD? FoxyMX (5)
2005-07-30 09:58:00 Thanks, I did do that but before I was able to take ownership of the files so it may well work now.off to try! Richart (8624)
2005-07-30 10:00:00 Now i remember what the problem was. I cannot open the backup file. It gives the message and options to go onto the web to see what program created them! Richart (8624)
