377400 2005-08-01 10:59:00 I have just purchased a new Laptop and will normally be using it as a desktop with the power coming from the Mains adapter. In this circumstance is it better to remove the battery to preserve it or leave it attached. Jaybee (6629)
377401 2005-08-01 11:27:00 The "smart charging" circuits in newer laptops should correctly maintain the battery with no adverse effects if left in the laptop.

I see no reason to remove the battery, I never do in similar circumstances.

377402 2005-08-02 10:50:00 I've been using a laptop in similar circumstances leaving the battery in with no adverse effects. I do run the battery right down once a month before re-charging. This was cited as a good idea on the operating instructions. Shortstop (632)
