377183 2005-08-01 07:27:00 Is it possible to set an internet usage quota on a shared computer?
We have a Win98SE computer that is sometimes shared. The main user is my partner, but occassionally her teenagers want to use it. I am happy with the idea, but don't want a situation where within a week our 3GB limit has been used (the teenager likes a site called launch.com where she can listen to music online).
If the teenager has her own account on the computer, can I limit the internet usage; via software or other means (other than having to police constantly).

Any suggestions welcome

377185 2005-08-02 08:49:00 If you have static IP addresses on each machine you should be able to set quota levels within your router (if you're using a router of course)
Check out your routers settings throught it's admin interface or read the manual or google it

377186 2005-08-02 14:15:00 Sounds like its a single computer situation, so the ADSL modem won't be much help. I don't know of any software solutions for this situation unfortunately. Net limiter (http://www.netlimiter.com) might be of help though.. Not a freebie though so cant download to have a play with it unfortunately. roddy_boy (4115)
