376952 2005-08-01 10:36:00 It's very hard without actually getting "ones hands on the unit" to do much more
My only suggestion left is to source a 98 or ME disk and see if that loads, 98 isn't as fussy about hardware as XP is.
Apart from that a quick trip to a reputable techie might be your only choice left
There is something odd going on at BIOS level if it's not identifying the hard drive correctly.
Any techie worth their salt will suss it in a couple of minutes
Just check that Hard drive selection is set to Auto for all drives
You could also try inputting the drives settings manually
Try another video card and PSU
But if all was well with ME installed, It's got me b***ered as to why you're having problems now
Apart from that I'm stuffed, sorry

376954 2005-08-02 19:54:00 Hi all,
I don't wish to waste any more of your valuable time, but can i ask 1 more question please?
Can a faulty power supply cause these problems ? because yesterday it just went dead on me, i double checked all leads and connections they were ok, it would not startup, i then left it for about a half hour tried it again and she started up.
Thanks

376955 2005-08-02 22:33:00 Certainly will if the fault is intermittent, as I said in one of my earlier posts, try another PSU.
Even if it turns out not to be the problem at least thats one scenario discounted
And I'm afraid that's the stage you're at now, step by step troubleshooting eliminating each potential problem one by one.
I hate that as it can take a long time with lashings and lashings of frustration and lots of ""#@*$*@!@""

If you have any more queries post back, someone here will always help if they can.

If you're in Surfers and can bring your PC to the beach between the 11th & 25th Nov I'l have a look at it for you. (In between beers and pervs of course, I've gotta get my priorities right!)
