378248 2005-08-04 09:55:00 HI

I manage to plot the data onto a piegraph with microsoft excel but how do I take a slice out of the pie graph?

378249 2005-08-04 10:05:00 Click in the pie chart then click the section twice - there should be six handles (little squares) around just that section. Now that the section is selected you can drag it with your mouse.

Now for the next question.

I have made a bar graph and I wish to tell excel to insert a line touching the tip of bar.How do i do this?

This line will show me the ending cash figure for each month.Like a time series line graph.

At the moment I have two bars sticking together One showing Room receipts for each month and the other bar showing total receipts for each over a period of 12 months with two bars sticking together in each month. if i right click and select the chart type and scroll down to line-column and it would convert total receipt into a line which goes across a period of 12 months.

I don't want it to do that.I want a line place on top of the two bars that goes across with a period of 12 months which tells me how the motel is doing

Understand?

The question says

Develop and print (in black and white, not colour) a combination chart which shows ending cash as a line graph superimposed on the previous column chart. A title, legend and axes labels are essential.

378255 2005-08-08 06:46:00 Hi, I think your talking about a combo chart, where you want both a bar and a line chart. See Jon Peltier's (www.peltiertech.com) site as he is a whiz on Excel charts and manipulating them.

Graham.

That site solved one of my problems that I was unable to describe sufficiently to post a question about.
