378089 2005-08-04 12:10:00 Kiwiwebhost.

When I was getting the plan configured for tradef1 Max was telling me over MSN what we needed and how he wanted it configured and I was passing along the requests via email to Kiwiwebhost, they were replying within 10 minutes each time telling me what I had asked for had been done.

When I replied back to Max via msn that I had submitted the request and it had been done he refused to believe me, seems he hadn't come across such snappy service before.(he was expecting a 2 day wait)

Proof of the pudding was that within a few minutes we could both access the url (pity it then took us 4 months to get the site online...............Ha.)

Anyhow, they are very good, I use and recomend them exclusivly.....

378090 2005-08-04 12:29:00 Very much what Metla has said.
I host 6 sites with them and the setup and support is second to none
Once the domain name is settled on you can upload in an hour or less
Even if you haven't sorted the domain name they supply a temporary one and create access to cpanel, email and databases so you can get cracking on it till the registration is approved
And they are very reasonably priced compared to some I've seen
Some servers are offshore and some in Wellington although I believe they are moving them all to Wellington
Only one of the sites has been down and that was for about 2 hrs in 2 years (something broke)
I host one site which runs a smallish database php/mysql with forms for collecting info and calculating costs then displaying results live onscreen as well as firing off 3 emails when all is done, quite heavy on images etc and the speed is good.

378091 2005-08-04 23:39:00 Openhost ( Run by a friend of mine, has been webhosting for about 5 years now. Openhost have good cheap plans, or the parent company Thinklab (http://www.thinklab.co.nz/" target="_blank">www.openhost.co.nz/) are good. Run by a friend of mine, has been webhosting for about 5 years now. Openhost have good cheap plans, or the parent company Thinklab (http:) have bigger but more expensive plans. I'd go for Openhost :)

378092 2005-08-05 04:42:00 Can't go past Kiwi Web Host. They are part of the bigger parent company Iserve if you haven't already realised. techie (7177)
378093 2005-08-05 07:27:00 I'd recommend TJR Networks (www.tjrnetworks.com) (run from NZ with US based servers) or Myacen (http:) (run from Australia with US based servers). Of course, you really need to decide whether you will be using PHP or ASP before you can select a host. :) maccrazy (6741)
378094 2005-08-05 10:44:00 So far KiwiWebHost seem to be the fav.

I know off-shore is cheaper, but we'd prefer to stay local for this... :) Keep the feedback coming, along with any dealings you've had with them!

Cheers guys

Local company or local hosting? Remember that lots of local companies are using offshore hosting.

[edit: hmm ... some spammers are really not too bright. A, they cannot read the rules to which they just signed up with and B, their username is all over the website they have just *discovered* and want us to check out. I've also deleted your other thread whereby you were asking about this *new* great deal, which suprisingly you get a referral credit for each person that signs up to it - Jen (Moderator)]

378096 2005-11-19 22:04:00 Hi,
I have been using a New Zealand based WebHost called ShotHost for a few months now, they have pretty cheap prices and cPanel with all the features .

I think their plans start from $10 per year for 25mb space per year .

They give you php, mySQL, cpanel and all the other standard features .

Check it out .
