377899 2005-08-03 07:59:00 Anyone with know why this is happening?
After inserting the cd, instead of the usual browser window popping up to view the cd, I get Notepad come up with the following in it..
<HTML>

<HEAD>
<TITLE>PC World CD</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET ROWS="72,24,*" SCROLLING="NO" FRAMEBORDER="0" FRAMESPACING="0" BORDER="0">

<FRAMESET COLS="267,490,*" SCROLLING="NO" FRAMEBORDER="0" FRAMESPACING="0" BORDER="0">
<FRAME SRC="home/logo.htm" NAME="logo" SCROLLING="NO" noresize>
<FRAME SRC="home/banner1.htm" NAME="banner" SCROLLING="NO" marginheight="3" noresize>
<FRAME SRC="home/blank.htm" NAME="blank" SCROLLING="NO" marginheight="3" noresize>
</FRAMESET>

<FRAME SRC="home/navbar.htm" NAME="navbar" scrolling="no" marginheight="2">
<FRAME SRC="home/home.htm" NAME="home" marginheight="2">

</FRAMESET><noframes></noframes>

</HTML>

Is this the Cd, or have my settings been changed somewhere?
Up till now they have always worked.

377900 2005-08-03 08:30:00 What happens if you browse the CD and open the index.html manually? Have you tried a previous months CD that worked fine before? Jen (38)
377901 2005-08-03 08:51:00 Thanks Jen. Tried opening via the said index.html, but got same result.
Tried PC World May issue of Cd, but that also had same result.
Tried both cd's in both optical drives, alas no change.
So I tried right clicking the index.html file, then opening with IE (been using Firefox for about 2 months now) and got a partial result. "PCWorld plus index file"
But not the normal start-up for these cds.

377902 2005-08-03 10:10:00 That text is the index.html file but instead of it being opened by your browser it is being opened by notepad. Under folder options > file types, make sure that your browser is set to open .html and .htm files. ad_267 (6193)
377903 2005-08-03 12:25:00 Thank you ad_267. That was the source of my troubles.
For some reason the file associations for html had changed from browser to notepad. :confused:
Restored them back to IE.
Thanks again. :thumbs:
