| 378769 | 2005-08-06 05:33:00 | Nah, all it does is remap your keyboard slightly to make use of the tilde ~ key to make then easy to type. If you use the Character Map program (under Accessories menu -> System tools) you can see all the characters built into the unicode fonts. Otherwise you have to hold down keys and enter numbers to get them.. Those other fonts (usually Hawaiian) are a terrible idea. Of course this only works on unicode enabled applications (and operating systems), with unicode fonts. It is still a problem on OS X, as Office 2004 and 10.3 are required for the unicode support. The same is true on webpages - there are unicode codes that display the macronised fonts correctly. Too often you see the characters done incorrectly. |
