| 378259 | 2005-08-04 12:19:00 | I am trying to install 98 on an hp brio after removing XP due to a canon printer incompatability. It keeps coming up new hardware found and requests drivers. the graphics and audio drivers i have downloaded from hp but have yet to install. the modem i loaded under xp, a conectant model, loads alright but i am unable to access dial up conection. Is this something to do with the unspecified new hardware found on setup? PCI comm problem? All advise welcome. thanks mark |

Remove any currently installed modems and the PCI Communication device Return to the control panel and go into modems. Click Add and follow the prompts Dont let windows automatically detect the device use the select from a list option. When the list comes up click the button near the bottom, I think it is called 'Have disk' or something similar, and point it to the drivers you downloaded. If it asks you which com port to use try com3 first. |

Click on the display adapter, then click Update driver and follow the prompts again. Click Have Disk and point it to where the downloaded files are. You will need to do the same for the sound card. If the drivers you downloaded are zipped, you will need to unzip them first. |
