| 378719 | 2005-08-05 19:05:00 | I've been trying to run Mepis on my computer. I started my computer, accessed the BIOS and changed the order so it would boot from my CD drive.. but for some reason, my computer is still just running my usual Windows XP, any suggestions as to what i'm doing wrong? | dmahajan (8673) | ||

You can check this by browsing the CD from Windows and making sure there are various folders and files on the CD and not just the single original ISO file. The CD will not be bootable otherwise. |

| 378722 | 2005-08-05 23:49:00 | Well, I got Mepis to run off of the CD, but now it is prompting me for my username and password, and the usual username and password from my XP account is not working.. is there something I'm missing here? | dmahajan (8673) | ||

For your live CD installation the username is demo and the password is demo - I think. If those do not work let us know. |

But for the time being use the demo user even though mepis is a live cd there are some apps in there that will deal to windows OS be carefull |
