379501 2005-08-08 22:38:00 :help: I'm behind an http proxy (strict) and need to gat a programme through it that has no facility for proxy configuration.

It needs to connect to a specific IP address and port 9999 while the proxy is 8080.

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a good pregramme that will forward through the proxy.

This is legit because if I can find :help: a programme then I can get everything set up and get it made official.

379503 2005-08-08 23:22:00 I don't want it open. I just want one programme forwarded through it. On a single IP to connect to a single server in Auckland.

379506 2005-08-09 02:07:00 If it is legit then ask your network admin to open port 9999 for outgoing. berryb (99)
379507 2005-08-09 02:28:00 If youre talking about a computer at work, there's not much you can do about it.

Even if u manage to find a program, (if this PC is at work), and it's blocked, and u dont have access to unblocking it, forget it.

379508 2005-08-09 02:54:00 They won't unblock that port and the guy that would is on a weeks holiday. I don't want the port open I just want a good forwarding programme.

I've already sorted out that if it works than a change request will be processed.

379509 2005-08-09 03:02:00 Well, you answered your own question. If u cant get http proxy, coz its blocked/strict, they've blocked it for a reason.

Request it to be unblocked first, before anything else.

379510 2005-08-09 04:57:00 Are you just not reading what I'm saying?

Yes all but port 8080 is blocked for a reason and the reason not to open port 9999 has already been stated. The agreement with the admins is that if I cat get it forwarded through the proxy then, via a change request, it can be made official to have the forwarding programme installed.

It's just one programme that is required and won't play with the proxy.

I know it can be done, I know there are meny free programmes out there that I can configure to do it.

My problem is that there are too many programmes out there and there are other important things I need to be doing also and I can't go and test each and every one of them and I haven't done this my self in around four years.

If anyone has a fovourite forwarding/tunneling programme that is free ("they" don't want to pay for additional software). Please let me know about it.
