| 379441 | 2005-08-08 15:24:00 | an FM tuner is hardware, not software. To do it via software they need to stream it over the net,you need a fairly good internet connection for this (not 56k),and a compatible media player. The fly in this ointment is that Radio NZ don't seem to broadcast over the net,and if they did it would be bound to use your data cap (if you have one) pretty quickly... |

Ive heard/read recently that Radio NZ is about to start fm for the internet and hoped that would obviate the streaming problems. I can get RNZ via Windows media player with streaming but they only provide brief samples. Thanks anyway :) |

I have an FM tuner but here in Masterton RNZ only is on AM. Have been thinking of putting an AM feed into the PC, even with the associated interference, so to auto-record MP3s of programs that I miss. No mention of RNZ going online, on their web site... BTW, have a look at the sound archive on the Radio NZ site (www.soundarchives.co.nz). Terry Porrit may be interested! The downloadable WW2 recordings look interesting. |
