| 379434 | 2005-08-08 10:37:00 | Hi Something has happened, as it often does wih computers. When I go Start, Run, type "msconfig" the following error message pisses me off. "An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account" Well I am logged on as as an administrator, so that won't work. The last thing I did you may ask was to return to a previous known restore point because a driver I downloaded caused Windows to be unstable. The restore point was 3 days earlier. Any suggestions will be gratefully received as to what i can try next. On another note, my log-in became unstable but the admin account and another user account were fine. Because I was unable to log on in my account successfully I restarted windows and when i saw the operating system logo appear on the screen i pressed F8 hoping to see the "advanced options" screen so i could select the Last Known Good Configuration - but it wouldna work for me. Has anyone else had trouble with this, has anyone had any success with this mode of trying to retrieve the situation. Cheers Cam |

I use the same sort of program but have not had to use it to escape from a problem as yet. |
