| 379300 | 2005-08-07 23:13:00 | Hi all, my computer is in coma. I had it on half-day on Saturday. The next time I turned it on, nothing come up on the screen. The monitor is on standby mode. There is power, power led is on but not flashing, then after a few second, its off. Try to press the on/off button, but no respond, have to switch it off at the power supply switch. On Friday night b4 it happened,.... I installed a DVD writer, noticed cable is a bit messy. So I tidied them up by unplug and plug all the connector including the jumper. There was one back fan I missed connect it. After that, I turned it on to check, it was fine. On Saturday...., I noticed that my normal clock speed (3.2ghz) has gone up to 3.5ghz once. When I turn off the computer, I noticed that it shutted down quicker than normal. But it still seems it has gone thru normal shutdown procedure. I have... Pentium 4 (640) LGA775 3.2Ghz, 1G DDR2 533mhz, ASUS P5WD2 Premium, Gigabite X600 Pro 128MB PCI-Express X16, 120G Seagate 7200rpm 8mb SATA HDD, Acbel 500W. Thank you in advance. |

| 379304 | 2005-08-08 00:51:00 | My guess is my CPU has fried or my motherboard has burned. What would happen if I have a fried CPU or a burned motherboard. Can anyone tell? | ahd8888 (184) | ||

| 379307 | 2005-08-08 01:55:00 | On Friday night b4 it happened,.... I installed a DVD writer, noticed cable is a bit messy. So I tidied them up by unplug and plug all the connector including the jumper. Thank you in advance. Jumper? Why did you chnage the jumper and is it correct or have you set it wrong now? Take the lid off and reset the BIOS - either by using the jumper or if you aren't sure (read your manual) by removing the CMOS battery. Then try booting. Unlikely that you killed the CPU or board... |
