That's probally not entirely true, I would have a look first, then fix any problems afterwards.

378966 2005-08-08 02:14:00 I once delibretly ran a virus that changed all my fonts to chinese, and then corrupted the data on my HD.

Spent the next week kicking myself violently.....

378968 2005-08-08 05:49:00 You are a worrier B.Just take a deep breath and all will be well.

Nah, you read it wrong Ciccy, I don't have any problems, and I have even fewer worries, because al my incoming is cleaned out by Mailwasher, except for approved correspondents, and I don't open attachments without scanning them first, not even from friends or family unless I know in advance that it is coming.

My posting of these two emails is entirely altruistic, because I read a lot of posts here on PF1 from people with problems that they should never have, or wouldn't have if they just took adequate precautions.

If nobody draws their attention to current exploits, especially recycled old exploits, they might go down the gurgler.

Cheers

378969 2005-08-08 06:47:00 Hmmm, live dangerously and open it... I would.
To me you just have to infect yourself once in a blue moon, ya just make sure your files are all backed up.

Kinda keeps you on your toes :)

378972 2005-08-09 04:46:00 Got both beasties with Mailwasher Pro listing them as probably legitimate, being able to read first 20 lines both promptly got blacklisted, bounced and deleted. Have a fairly comprehensive filter system which means that I only have to check those marked as probably legitimate which is just as well with the amount of Russian language spam that's coming in.
Agree with Billy T that some people are just too trusting, prefer to be a distrusting old ???????, my grizzle is the frequency that the protection has to be updated.
