379448 2005-08-08 12:27:00 Recently i am suffering from a huge problem. Everytime i click on a application file i get the error msg "Windows cannot find the chkdsk or other files" i cant run the games nor internet explorer but i can run my movies. It says "make sure you typed the name properly" which i have. I think this might happen for any missing .dll file but i am not sure. I have norton running. I am running win xp pro. Please help. polo (6383)

379451 2005-08-08 23:12:00 Firstly you need to verify that all windows files are intact and not corrupt
Put the XP CD in the drive
Go start > Run type in sfc /scannow and let it do it's job
When finished (might take a while) remove the CD and reboot
Post back if problems continue (they probably will)
