379187 2005-08-07 08:35:00 Hi. I have a Compaq Deskpro EN PC at my workplace (800MHz Pentium 3 model) and recently it blew up. Well at least that was what I was told happened. After testing the PC I've found that the PSU is now faulty but after trying to install a standard ATX power supply I have also discovered that the computer does not take ATX power supply units, probably because it's a Compaq. What I would like to know is what kind of PSU fits in these computers? The original PSU doesn't have any useful information on it. The space in which the power supply goes is vertical (since the computer is a desktop not a tower) and it seems that it is less tall but more wide than the space in which an ATX PSU would go.
Please help me out so I can get a replacement in as soon as possible. If any more details are required then please let me know.

379190 2005-08-07 21:31:00 Email these people. visparts@visual.co.nz That's where we got out last lot from. Give the part number on the one you have removerd from the PC. Good luck. I assume it's one of these 200 watt PSUs?? Finding some who carries Compaq spares in this country was nearty an imposable task as HP has no in country spares support and won't answer parts enquiry emails.. paulw (1826)

379195 2005-08-08 07:01:00 There's a computer auction at Turners, Wellington on the 18 August with a heap of Deskpros. They will go cheaper than the price quoted for a new psu ;)

www.turners.co.nz

Select Wellington in the 'Branch' box.

379196 2005-08-08 21:26:00 Thanks for all the help guys. Do you think the power supply might be a mini-atx model? And yes it is one of the 200 watt ones. technicianxp (6463)
