1376737 2014-06-07 23:21:00 I have a Alcatel one touch phone, which i have had since about um february i think? i use it mostly for photos, txts and calls and it picks up emails and i use fb or internet when not on pc. but for a few weeks now it comes up phone storage low, so i cleaned it out of excess crap - photos and mail, and have got a new sd card for it....16 gig i think....... cant recall.

but today it says full and cant do stuff......... actually cant remember actual wording, and so this little icon will not go away, has been there for weeks, and i see now it cant auto back up any more, and doesnt save photos to google + any more...... not sure if that is related.

any suggestions on what to do ? phone storage is set to sd card as main, but its the phone that keeps getting full, and im not sure why.

help

1376738 2014-06-07 23:33:00 I think most smartphones (is it a smartphone)? put whatever in internal memory, that's whats getting full.

I don't think any of them, look at an SD card, even if you put one in (for apps or contacts). And only some apps can be moved / installed on an SD card. So it doesn't fill up the internal memory.

The only way you're going to fix it is if you root it. So, you can delete whatever you want etc. So, it frees up space. Or buy one that's got more internal ram on it

That's the annoying thing about buying one that's got stuff all internal memory on it. It runs out, you can't update the apps on it. Or add a lot of contacts on it.

I had the same prob here, I could only uninstall / update so many apps. One of the apps, didnt even work (so I dont know why it was on it in the first place), but I couldn't remove it.

And I too found that the contacts were full. I couldn't add any more. So, decided to chuck it out, and use my old cell (not a smartphone). instead.

1376739 2014-06-08 00:53:00 May i ask what apps you stopped or uninstalled etc? there is quite a lot of apps on my ph i have no idea what they are or what they do. or even if i need them................ photos, emails, txts and calls, contacts, and browser -internet is about all i use........... so a lot of crap on a phone i dont want....but are probably unable to get rid of for fear of killing the phone right? beetle (243)
1376740 2014-06-08 01:37:00 umm anything that could be uninstalled lol. I uninstalled FB then reinstalled it. At least that can install on an sd card. There was an AV program I uninstalled that. Think it was AVG. If you go to program management or manage programs or something, you can highlight whatever. If it can be uninstalled the uninstall option isnt disabled. If it it's ghosted / disabled you cant uninstall it Speedy Gonzales (78)
