1376029 2014-05-28 10:30:00 I was out hiking the other day with a farmer friend of mine and as we went through the back paddock My friend said
'I really like this place, it's where I had sex the first time.'
'Wow right out here in the open, what was that like?' I asked.
'Well' he answered 'it was pretty good till her mom caught us.'
'OMG!' I exclaimed. 'Her mom caught you!? What did she say?'
'BAAAA!'

Thanks PJ, these things are an occupational hazard, you get them by living, but so long as there is something to complain about at least you know you are alive.

Mrs T has had more than her fair share of operations over the years, in fact she is not too far off a complete rebuild, but she is very stoic and just gets on with it, in fact she just about needs to be tied down to stop her just getting on with life when she should be recuperating.

1376033 2014-05-29 21:58:00 Best wishes to Mrs T, but beware these participants forced out of the ring and into the spectator seats for a while.
They tend to generate lists while temporarily sidelined. ;)

Arrrrgh!!!! The lists have already started, I was out half the morning at Bunnings and Mitre 10.

Just what I needed! A Project Manager, resident in-house 24/7. This in addition to my current list of items that must be completed urgently before the Queen makes an unexpected visit to Chez Billy!

I have also assumed the roles of matron and head nurse, but it is a futile task and nothing short of ankle bracelets and a sturdy chain will keep her down. Tomorrow she has planned a 100 km (200km return) trip south to visit a relative who is temporarily up from the South Island. That is going to be an interesting journey, especially in its latter stages!

Cheers

1376035 2014-05-30 03:58:00 Yep, these House Managers can be tireless in your efforts. Never mind, it is character building, and if they are not organising us who knows what mischief they might get into ;) Besides, if they change their ways they wouldn't be the same person any more, and that is not worth contemplating. Mid length travels on a long weekend don't sound too appealing though. R2x1 (4628)
1376036 2014-06-05 07:01:00 Well, our journey turned out not to be too arduous . We left after the morning rush and were off the beaten track for most of the trip so it was pretty easy going . Turned out that the relative was house-sitting in a millionaire's cliff-top pad (we were expecting an old kiwi bach), with a new Merc, a boat and a 4wd trail bike to play with, all behind a steel security gate with PW entry and solar powered auto gate-opener . The driveway was very long and so steep that my Mazda 6 was reduced to first gear and struggling! You could never walk up it, it would take all the skin off the end of your nose!

The rellie is a very nice lady and we don't see her too often, so all in all it was a pleasant day, sitting on the gigantic deck (capacity 100 people, seated, at a recent wedding party) looking at the mouth of the Waikato river, wine in hand, nibbles galore, and beautiful views . We were going to detour a bit to drop in and see some other rellies on the way home, but we flagged that away and enjoyed the sunset instead .

It did Mrs T the world of good, and then she won four tickets to the Shadowland show at the Civic Theatre, so we had to go to that on Tuesday night! There were only the two of us, so we were trying to give the spare tickets away outside the theatre but everybody either had tickets already or were going elsewhere, then this young american couple rolled up and stood there looking a bit lost, they were expecting to see another show, but got the dates wrong, so we gave them the tickets and they thoroughly enjoyed it . The tickets included a meet and greet with some cast members after the show and they were a lovely bunch of people and surprisingly young . They got four very long ovations, so much for conservative Kiwi audiences!

Back to Mrs T, she's been out in the B! garden all day today and now she's complaining that her knees are a bit sore .

I need to build a corral!

Cheers

1376037 2014-06-05 07:07:00 Lucky you were having a holiday; otherwise you could have been exhausted. These wenches are funny cattle alright, blowed if I know how your supposed to domesticate them. Obviously Murphy was busy arranging the weather for someone else and overlooked you.

If this was the group (vimeo.com), they look good.

1376038 2014-06-05 13:40:00 Hi Billy ... glad to hear that the wife is OK and will be back to giving you the orders in no time at all. I'm also very greatful for the ride-on mower joke ... honestly, it couldn't have come at a more oportune time. I'll fill you in on the reasons for that another day.

Cheers
