1389565	2014-12-04 21:56:00	I will be buying a new SSD soon as my C drive has reached a point of no return and I need more space. I do not under any circumstances want to reinstall..... Can anyone recommend some good cheap/free ghosting software that a monkey could use please?	DeSade (984)

1389567	2014-12-04 22:23:00	Some brands have free cloning software available on their website that generally does the job. Windows 7 & 8 also have built in capabilities to create & restore images although it might be too limited to change drive size in the process. I've not had great experiences doing this, particularly when changing drive types or size. When I did mine I tried Active@ which I paid for and acronis from the SSD manufacturers website and a few free tools. Both Active@ and acronis appeared to work but they both failed to boot completely even after a repair and the other one I found worked after a repair but didn't align the partition correctly so I had to fix that as well. I think it might have been a bootable disk of partition magic that worked for me in the end but I'm not sure. On the bright side all it takes is time and perseverance. Provided you never modify the old drive you can just keep trying. I have had it work in 1 shot, just not recently.	dugimodo (138)
