NetFlix consumes one third of the total internet traffic in the US, only behind Youtube in popularity. It has about 12,000 video for rental. It's a fixed cost service: watch as much or as little as you want. Costs are as follow * Netflix (www.netflix.com/)US $8 * UnoTelly (www.unotelly.com), US $5/month. It fools geo-locators into thinking you're in the US / Germany / UK / .... * optionally an "Apple TV" media player, currently on sale at JB Hifi for $160. You can quit NetFlix at any time, and no extra costs. For $10/month, you can have with 4 media players and 4 different videos going at once, for instance, your living room and bed rooms. Before you subscribe to Netflix, check your monthly internet bandwith limit first. I've been watching a lot of TV during the holiday break, 4 seasons of "Breaking Bad". I hate to admit it, but it worked out to about 1/4 of my day watching Netflix. If I could maintain that rate, I'll have watched 171 hours, or 120 GB of bandwidth: 120 GB limit = 171 hours of HD TV. Of course if others in your household are also watching Netflix, you'll burn through your bandwidth even faster. |

Just thought it might be an option for western television too if such a thing exist. They are retired so they consume maybe 100GB per month for it. | Nomad (952) | ||

| 1376433 | 2014-06-04 01:30:00 | Or if you have a Slingshot internet connection then you don't need Unotelly or whatever as they do that part for you. :D | CYaBro (73) | ||
| 1376434 | 2014-06-04 01:55:00 | Hmmm, I did not know that www.slingshot.co.nz "What is Global Mode? Global Mode is a Free add-on for all Slingshot Broadband customers. It that allows overseas visitors to enjoy some of their favourite web services from their home country, all from the convenience of a Slingshot Broadband connection. How do I activate this? All you need to do is switch on Global Mode in My Account (login at the top right corner of this page), accept the terms of use and Global Mode will be available for your visitors to use within 10 minutes. My Account -> My Internet -> Global Mode Settings Will I be charged for Global Mode? Global Mode is free on all slingshot Broadband connections. Standard Slingshot data rates still apply though, so please remember to regularly check your data use in My Account if you are worried about exceeding your limit. Obviously if you have Unlimited Broadband, there’s no need to worry about data caps." |
