380120 2005-08-10 12:53:00 :help: I have an E151FPp Flat Panel Color Monitor. Since i've had it i have had no problems, but this morning wheni turned it on, the screen was displaying in 4-bit colours, and 800 by 600 pixel resolution. I went to display properties and tried to change it but no success. I can select to view in 1024 by 768 pixels and in 32-bit colour, but when i select apply nothing happens. As i said this happened over night and i have no idea why. Any suggestions(with detailed procedures) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance  NichtSoGut (8239)
380121 2005-08-10 21:15:00 Try reinstalling your graphics driver. pctek (84)
380122 2005-08-10 21:23:00 Out of interest what version of Windows are you using and is AVG your anti-virus program?

I have come across this problem quite a few times recently and it has been a bit of a mystery as to why it happens.

As pctek says, reinstall your graphics driver but first go into Advanced under Display Properties, Settings and make sure that the driver hasn't reverted back to the Windows default. If it has just reselect your graphics driver.

380125 2005-08-11 08:48:00 I've had quite few display problems with machines that have either had AVG or that I've put AVG on. The latter that didn't have display problems previously. Though I am a keen user and supporter of AVG I'm beginning to be a bit suspicious that there's a bug/conflict there somewhere. But yeah, updating the driver has fixed it..hth....m:) mark c (247)
380126 2005-08-11 10:13:00 Though I am a keen user and supporter of AVG I'm beginning to be a bit suspicious that there's a bug/conflict there somewhere. That is what I am thinking as well but have no proof as yet. The other common factor is that the machines run Windows 98.

At the moment I have another PC which has done the same thing but this one has NAV, not AVG.......

380127 2005-08-11 10:15:00 yeah i do have avg but i cant use it anymore cos the license has expiredIf you have not already replaced AVG with another AV I would suggest uninstalling AVG and downloading a fresh copy from their website. You need to register it to obtain a key before you can install it but the home version is still free. FoxyMX (5)

Yes, me too. Every case of it. But then I only deal with old machines. :)
