| 379921 | 2005-08-10 04:28:00 | Seems like a direct short or high current draw on one component or another. You are going to have to disconnect one at a time and try to reboot to find the offender. Sorry for the vague answer..but right now, you have a draw sufficient enough to trip out the power supply trying to protect itself from burning down. Start with (if you have) auxillary hard drives, then fans, then cards until you find the problem. The fans are probably on the 12 vdc circuit, and they can make the whole thing shut down if one is frozen or won't turn and draws a lot of current..but I daresay that you shouldda smelled something burning if that's the case. Almost all devices with motors in them (drives, fans) use the 12 vdc circuit to energize them. The only other option is to try to replace the PSU from another working unit to see if it..itself has died or internally shorted out. :( |

| 379924 | 2005-08-10 07:33:00 | If you can, swap your PSU with another one. If the other one works that means you need a new power supply. If you haven't got a spare PSU lying around, ask a mate if you can borrow his, or ask a technician to test it. |
