| 379730 | 2005-08-09 12:14:00 | I have set alternative paths to my preferred folders, but every now and then some docile program opts to play safe and dumps pictures into the My Pictures folder or documents into the My documents folder and I have to go looking for them. If deleted they just reappear next time I boot, and renaming My Documents.DLL also brings up a restored file next boot. Google didn't help, so I guess it is a registry hack or some other adventurous activity that will be needed to put granny MS to sleep. They even found a "Documents" folder several layers deep on my D: drive and installed themselves there as well!! OS is W2K, any ideas? Cheers Billy 8-{) :badpc: |

| 379732 | 2005-08-09 12:42:00 | There's a few how to's in here (www.google.co.nz) Billy. I only checked the first one and it seemed to be going in the right direction and others looked to have the right headings so, choose your poison. It wouldn't happen to be Acrobat Reader that is a little slow on the uptake would it? That's the one that gets me. |

You can then delete these folders and they "should" not be re-created afterwards. Works for xp so should do for w2000 hth |
