| 380253 | 2005-08-11 22:31:00 | The only way you'll get on the net with the 2nd pc with the 1st PC off, is to connect the modem on the 2nd PC, to the phonejack, with a double adaptor. Then you can dial up with the 2nd PC. |

(assuming pc1 is the one with the modem in it) pc1 must be connected to the net for pc2 to be able to connect. btw.....what proxy, ics or other internet shareing software are you running? it is important to know. |

| 380255 | 2005-08-11 23:28:00 | Hello Interestingly I managed to get twice on the net with no2 directly through no 1 running but not connected to the internet Also I managed to do that twice with that RDU prog but this little thing is fussy to configure. It looks like it is possible and surely it musst be able as it did it a few times !! No other soft being used. Gion :o |

RDU is simply to setup, however if you've done what has already been sugested then you don't need it as pc1 should auto dail whenever pc2 ties to access the net (which is a major pain unless your on the net 24/7). what firewall are you useing on the pc's ? Interestingly I managed to get twice on the net with no2 directly through no 1 running but not connected to the internet doubt it. you either loaded web pages from the cache, had the other pc on the net or your wireless lan is connecting into someone elses network. |
