380647 2005-08-12 23:53:00 A few times over the last few months I've put new music cds in my pc to listen to while I work only to get a message like "To play this cd several files on your pc will have to be updated. Ok to proceed?"
Does anyone know what files are updated ... or does it actually install anti copy software? Bottom line ... is it safe to allow the 'update'?

380649 2005-08-13 00:27:00 I've only encountered those CDs a couple of times, but I'm pretty sure I was able to play them in windows media player without updating any files.
I always make a copy of any copy protected CDs I buy - it became a habit after using a mp3 CD player that couldn't play copy protected CDs. Clone CD is the most user friendly program for simple stuff like that if you can still find a copy of it so long after it's death.

Wouldn't it be great if we could excercise our right to return a faulty product? Every retail store I have been into lately has a no returns policy on all CDs DVDs & games of any kind.
