380472 2005-08-12 07:46:00 Are u using Norton Internet Security??

This message can appear if this blocks the ip address/es of the email server.

It put the ip addresses on Autoblock.

And the ip address/es need to be added under intrusion detection/ip address
to the excluded computers.

I've had this prob before too, coz the default DNS ips and the email ip addresses are the same for stupid Ihug! I had to add them to excluded computers, before the emails came thru properly.

380473 2005-08-12 20:23:00 one step further than speedy are you using any firewall program (except xp's one). If yes check to see that OE is a "trusted" (if it can be trusted :p that is) program within the firewall settings beama (111)
380474 2005-08-13 01:43:00 I can confirm that it is nortons internet security firewall that is cousing the prblem since i turned it of and used microsoft firewall and the emall worked perfectly, but when i turned nortons on again it stoped it again. how to you actually Change the settings so that it can be 'trusted' ?

380475 2005-08-13 02:26:00 The latest versions of NIS are causing a lot of email problems.
It is a very difficult program to manage.

Un-checking the mail scanning is not sufficient to disable the scanning of emails it seems.
Open Norton Internet Security
On the Options menu, click Norton Antivirus
In the Norton AntiVirus Options window under Internet, click Email
Under What to scan, uncheck Scan outgoing email and Scan incoming mail
On the Options menu click Norton Internet Security
On the Email tab, under Email scanning, uncheck Tray icon
Under Email scanning, uncheck Progress Indicator
Click ok
On the Options menu click Norton AntiSpam
On the left side of the window, under Email, click Filtering
Uncheck Use outgoing email to improve Norton AntiSpam filtering (recommended)
Click OK
On the main Norton screen, disable Privacy Control
Safari (3993)
380476 2005-08-13 02:43:00 If you're using version 2003, click on the globe on the taskbar, then go to:

Intrusion details . You'll see under computers currently blocked by Autoblock

Highlight the ip address/es, click on unblock then click on ip address button, then highlight the ip address/es in currently blocked, and click on the Exclude>> button to add them to the excluded computers box .

Then OK, OK, close the NIS window .

380477 2005-08-13 04:26:00 I have fixed the problem, it was the firewall which stopped the e-mails. it was fixed by putting the firewall security level on custum settings.
Thanks for the help.
