Alternatively use the DOS FTP program - just open command prompt and type FTP! :D

This works well, no downloading and installation needed and is part of Windows itself. But does XP come with a ftp client built-in?

There is nothing wrong with these command-line clients. There are very few commands to learn: put/mput, get/mget, cd/lcd, ls/lls, pwd/lpwd, open and close, binary and ascii.
