380360 2005-08-14 05:36:00 LOL I really know how to shoot myself in the foot and give my credibility rating a -273

What a silly place to put it,

bottom right corner of the screen,
I put Abobe reader on to my "sendto" list with foxit as default reader .
But I still get that annoying computer freeze up for about 1/2 a minute as Adobe reader springs into action .

Give Adobe a break .
there are four page layout buttons in the bottom right corner of the screen,

380361 2005-08-14 10:44:00 Foxit Reader doesn't seem to work with Firefox, though. Or at least, not on mine. Laura (43)
380362 2005-08-14 11:03:00 Foxit Reader doesn't seem to work with Firefox, though. Or at least, not on mine.
Under Tools-Options-Downloads-File Types, it should say PDF PDF Document Open with FoxitReader, and under Plugins, PDF Document should be enabled.

Run Foxit and under Help check that the "Set to default PDF Reader" box is ticked.

380363 2005-08-14 11:40:00 I appear to have no PDF anything listed in my plug-ins, Terry - which accounts for my failure so far.
So it's back to the downloading process for another bash, I guess...
Thanks for the advice.

380364 2005-08-14 12:23:00 Foxit Reader technically does not have a plugin for firefox... yet.

380365 2005-08-14 13:21:00 Interesting, bob doe.
Looks as though I should've just waited for a while...

Actually, that's now the least of my problems.

During my mucking about downloading another Foxit Reader, I decided to update to Firefox 1.06 (which I'd been postponing for a while).
And although everything seemed to go fine during that download, I've now got no functional Firefox at all.

So it's back to the IE which I haven't used for ages. And I think I'm giving up on the lot for tonight.
Working out what's wrong with my Firefox will hopefully be easier with a fresher brain tomorrow.

380366 2005-08-14 21:07:00 Use Firefox in safe mode, its possibly an extension.... Chilling_Silence (9)
380367 2005-08-14 21:54:00 Hmm... I just downloaded Foxit, and on a very small sample (2 docs, 1 @ 50k and 1 @ 30mb) I found Acrobat 5 (full version, not Reader) to be faster at rendering pages and also better at rendering the fonts. Tony (4941)
