380402 2005-08-12 03:38:00 Neighbour running W98 has a problem with Adaware.BDE playing havoc.
All I can find says it is not a real baddy BUT it is occuring in folders in her old syst files and
when it is cleaned out her xtra connection does not work because a pop up saying can't find
modem comes up before the dial tone is detected.Maybe she is clearing out a needed BDE file also?It is also present in her Win/VVSA.exe file ???AdaWare and Spybot detect the thing and she deletes it only to have it back straight away if she runs them again.
Also she has 3.5 GB in her "Old syst files" and now is limited for room on her 10GB HD.

380406 2005-08-12 06:51:00 Thanks for that but really what I was saying above was"can she get rid of her old system files" which it appears were created by a service person about 6 months ago.Am I correct
in assuming nothing should be useing them any more ?????.
