381140 2005-08-15 00:00:00 Using windows XP and Veritas CD writer for audio or data, is it possible to put pictures on to a DVD for greater storage space and also to make DVD discs for my children to view them on their DVD
machines.

381141 2005-08-15 00:34:00 Do you actually have a DVD writer drive installed?

A CD-Writer Drive will not write to a DVD disk.

"Veritas CD writer" in its basic form only writes to CD, not DVD as I recall, but if you have a DVD Writer drive installed it should have come with writing software.

No I do not have a DVD writer hence the question. I was told that I could put pictures( data ) on to a DVD with my CD writer and the question is, is this true ? Thanks for your interest.

381143 2005-08-15 02:28:00 If u mean, can put a cd with pictures in a dvd player, then YES u can. If it supports JPEG.

BUT you can't use blank DVD's in a cd writer, you need a dvd burner.

The information given you was incorrect. You need a DVD writer to be able to burn data to DVDs.

A CD writer will only burn to CDs, not DVDs, but a DVD writer can burn to CDs as well as DVDs.

You can use your CD burner to burn pictures to CDs that can be played on a DVD player, however, as Speedy has said above.
