| 380916 | 2005-08-14 09:16:00 | My inlaws want me to recommend an ISP for them. I'm suggesting that they go broadband-something. Free up the phone, quicker and not that much more expensive than dialup. They have heard of Maxnet. I'm not sure that I like their 12month penalty for early disconnect. Since Telecom basically runs broadband in NZ would that be their best opt? Cheers |

Yeah, I can't help but feel that most other providers just get a little complex in their deals... tying it to toll calls etc. You'd need to add some sig value to be drawn elsewhere... unless you just wanted to stick it to the man. There is no competition. |

| 380919 | 2005-08-14 22:41:00 | gidday, broadband with xtra is the way to go at $39.95 a month, but it is till way more expensive than dail up, is quicker of course and frees up the telephone line. I've found clearnet really good for dail up $12.95 a month for 150 hours. cheers, robby |

| 380920 | 2005-08-14 22:53:00 | I'm in Napier and use Actrix broadband called Cyberjet. I'm on the CyberJet 256 Home plan. Like most ISP's marketing Telecom's Jetstream under there own brand you have to make your Toll calls through them or pay an extra $10 a month, but unlike some other ISP's they don't care if you don't make Toll calls just as long as you have signed up to use them.
