| 381494 | 2005-08-16 05:46:00 | A spare PC here is a 600 MHz Celeron, it has 256 MB RAM (shared with video) and is quite acceptable in speed for general surfing and email use with XP loaded. Not fast, but not the slug that one would assume reading Antonia1's post either. One in everyday use here is a 667 MHz P3, with 256 MB RAM, (shared) and that is quite OK for Word and email. Performance is better than you would expect. Recently upgraded a colleague's XP on a 700 MHz Celeron from 128 to 256 RAM, it would barely run with 128 but is very happy on 256. |
