380830 2005-08-14 01:30:00 Yes it has a bad rep and deservidly so in my books. While it has a lot of bells and whistles for those that love them it sends too much rubbish within the email and a lot of businesses will reject emails because of that. I personally put anyone who uses it in my message filter and have them deleted straight off the server. mikebartnz (21)
380831 2005-08-14 04:07:00 Not to mention the spyware it comes with. Anyone using it should be taken out the back and shot. pctek (84)
380832 2005-08-14 04:57:00 Before you consider using Incredimail, I think you should try Bonzi Buddy...

WAIT! That was a joke! DON'T USE EITHER!!!!

Seems to have a bad rep (what don't I know)but I like it.Apart from all the reasons not to use it like spyware etc, i have to ask why use it? When i see a message with a tiled background image and colored text i cringe. Plain text on white background works well. It communicates, and that is the function of email is it not?

I prefer plain text to HTML because most HTML mail is distracting. If people just used the occational bold and similar gentle things i would have no problem with it, but some people seem to want to send several KBs of fruit salad rather than a typed letter.

I know one person tells me he filters HTML mail and treats it as possible spam. Only plain text makes it directly to his inbox. I'd do the same if i could figure out how!

380837 2005-08-14 17:06:00 After having a good night's sleep after this post, I believe I might have lost the true value of this person's question .

Being the nutcase I am, and the parallax view I have on things made me miss their real point and question .

What I believe we ALL DID (in our younger days - - - 'puter wise) was download a lot of neat-o looking stuff that really messed our systems up badly . I admit I fell for the stupid monkey at first . Bonzi-Buddy was like the WeatherBug and the Desktop Slideshow, and cute bunnies and butterfly screens .

I think we all went thru this stage, and being the short-sighted people we are today, we forget (or have a convenient memory for) the things we did to our 'puters .

If I had had a place like F1 to tell me just why these cute things are really not the right thing to do, perhaps my own learning curve would have been a little shallower at it's nader .

I am sorry to not have had empathy for this person's question . . . I should have . . . BEEN THERE, DONE IT .
