| 381865 | 2005-08-17 10:44:00 | Anyone familiar with LimeWire? I have been looking at it as a file sharing program/software and am wondering about the security of it. Obviously I am not interested in letting anyone have access to my computer but might be interested in music downloads from it. Having done a little browsing it looks like there are a lot of sick puppies using it and I don't feel all that comfortable with alot of the content. Any comments? |

| 381866 | 2005-08-17 22:09:00 | Limewire is one of the better programs if you do use limewire you need to know how to set it up correctly to save your computer with being invaded with baddies I have used it for about 1 year and have had no problems with it. one thing to look at is when searching on limewire for a song ,movie, video you need to watch the file sizes, people will use "ads" descised as what you are looking for these files are easy to spot they are small if you are familar with file sizes hopefully this gives you a little more knowledge of limewire need any other info feel free to give me a shout....Regards Cam... | bigcam80 (8733) | ||
| 381867 | 2005-08-17 23:20:00 | Thanks for that Bigcam80. I have set it up so that it has to ask to connect each time I use it (through Zonealarm) and I don't allow it to act as a server (Zonealarm). Is there anything else you would recommend? |
