382247 2005-08-19 12:58:00 Howdy,

I need to block a certain web site in Firefox (Windows, running XP) from loading.
In IE, I could add the site adress into the Restricted Zone. Trouble is, I can't in Firefox.

:help:

382248 2005-08-19 14:10:00 I enter the ones I wanna keep outa Firefox into the same areas . . Internet Options is still Internet Options .

I think Internet Options is global in nature, and unless I get told otherwise, it affects any internet connections one might use . I am very sure it works there too .

I DO enter the whole url with the

http://xxx . com,

then I add the . net version for good measure .

and then I use the wildcard entry style for them too . . . the one with the

. *xxxxxxxx . com

etc, so there are two versions of the same url, only one is a complete entry and the other is a shortcut with wildcards allowed .

I don't think there can be too many variations on something you want to keep out .

Are you sure that works, I have never heard of IE security options having any control over Firefox .

382251 2005-08-19 23:36:00 You could try using your host fileYeah that's the simplest way, which will block access to it in any browser. Greg (193)

382253 2005-08-20 08:39:00 It's a file in one of your system folders that can be editted to include websites that you want to block. That's not its designed purpose, but is very effective. Greg (193)
