382255 2005-08-19 10:45:00 First of all ello! im new to the site. hope you can help me

My computer always freezes! it used to do it whenever, usually a few minutes after i turned it on. I wouldnt have a hope in hell of connecting to the internet, registering on here and posting this thread.

Now it always does it when i run Football Manager 2005 or use Windows Media player.

We thought the problem would have been a virus so my brother ordered Symantec Norton Internet Security 2005. That will be here in 3-5 working days.

I clicked on the 'baloon' in the corner of the screen which says virus protection software may not be in use. I followed the steps and downloaded a free 12 month trial of e Trust EZ Antivirus. I have scanned the computer it found 1 virus and deleted it, the icon is in the bottom right corner so it is running constantly and should detect viruses without me telling it to yes?

The problem still occurs. I am allowed about 2 minutes on FM 2005 before the whole comp freezes. No mouse, no keyboard. My only option is to turn the comp off and try again.

Does anyone know what this problem could be? i would be extremely gratefull if someone could assist me. Thanks

382257 2005-08-19 10:51:00 What virus is it?

My guess is you still have traces of the same AND/OR another virus lurking in the computer?
