| 382159 | 2005-08-19 03:31:00 | Recently I was trying to access A PDF Document on a site I was visiting and was informed that as I did not appper to have the latest Reader & I would need to Download the latest version. I duly complied & the went off for the evening meal. The following day I went to access the PDF document and discovered that I now have Adobe Versions 5 & 6. Do I need both versions? and if not how do I get rid of the earlier version? There does not appear to be an Uninstall file grandad w the Elderly :confused: :confused: :confused: |

| 382160 | 2005-08-19 03:53:00 | You don't need both If you uninstall 5 say yes to keep shared files when uninstalling or 6 probably won't work anymore Or uninstall both and then reinstall 6 If you're using XP uninstall both and install 7 it's heaps faster than 6 |

I just went through My Computer/C:/Program Files/Adobe/ then deleting the directory containing version 5. That was in W2k. Version 7 still worked after that. ;) I don't think the readers use shared library files. | Graham L (2) | ||

That's odd, I installed 6 on a 98 machine the other day then uninstalled "4" thru add/remove and 6 wouldn't work anymore, a reinstall fixed it tho' Maybe 5 works differently |
