383018 2005-08-22 11:18:00 I have a hewlett packard 948c ink jet printer, and want to know if there is a way of stopping/ removing the toolbox program that automatically loads on startup? It runs as hpztsb03.exe. I can close the program manually each time, but there is no option within its settings to stop it from loading everytime i use my computer. The printer still runs fine and prints fine with the program closed. There is also nothing in the start-> startup folder relating to the printer.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

383019 2005-08-22 11:26:00 Just go Start > Run. Enter in msconfig. Under the startup tab look for that program and remove the tick from beside it and click OK. Restart the machine and just tick "don't show this message again" when you see the dialog box about using selective startup. :) Jen (38)
383020 2005-08-22 11:33:00 Thanks for the super fast reply.

Tried that, but msconfig doesn't exist on my comp [Can't find msconfig (or one of its components)... etc].

I'm running win2000 which might explain it?

383021 2005-08-22 11:38:00 Yes, that would explain it. I was assuming you had XP as you didn't state what OS you had. :)

You can copy the msconfig executable from a XP machine if you have one handy and try that. I also know the program Spybot Search & Destroy (anti spyware program) has a utility for accessing the startup items but I'm not sure if that requires msconfig to be installed as well.

383023 2005-08-22 11:54:00 Start | Run | services.msc

Look for the appropriate service and set it to disabled or manual if you want to run it manually when you want to.

Or even better, look for an option inside the program itself to disable it from starting up at startup.
