383353 2005-08-24 05:18:00 I am running XP Pro and I seem to have removed some vital files doing a clean-up. System Restore is no good as it has been too long. The problem is I can no longer run Help/Support. My system tries to load the programme but it never loads. Secondly, I cannot display Users in Control panel User accounts.
The file opens but it is blank. Lastly I cannot access windows update. Once again the web site opens but has no content. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

383354 2005-08-24 05:25:00 Have you tried putting in the XP cd and doing a repair install (I think thats what it is called) Morgenmuffel (187)
383355 2005-08-24 05:25:00 What I would do is run scans for viruses/spyware/adware and run a registry cleanup prog such as RegScrubXp and see how you get on.

383356 2005-08-24 05:35:00 My first action would be
insert the XP CD
start > run & type in "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) and click ok.
this will check the integrity of core system files and replace any damaged ones
