| 383250 | 2005-08-23 19:51:00 | hi, my Compaq armada 1750 laptop bios was blocked, i solved that problem, but now it shows the Compaq splash screen on boot up, and then goes blank with no other activity possible showing this error on the screen: "1782 - disk controller failure". Any idea of how to force it out of this mode and into something useful or it´s that my HD is dead? It's running Win 2000 but it's not getting there at the moment. Please, help me. |

My laptop stopped booting, and the BIOS said there was no HDD. After a few terse comments I opened the lid over the disk drive, and saw that it had managed to unplug itself. It's worth a look. |
