383010 2005-08-22 11:04:00 Hi guys,
I installed a Belkin pre N wireless router and have a laptop with a pre N wireless adapter and a PC with a standard Belkin g-standard PCI card. The latter because there is not yet a Belkin pre N PCI card on the market. I like the pre N system, it is very reliable. And although the signal speed throughput is not different, the strength of the signal is much better than standard g. Now the laptop and the PC work well and each of them go on the Internet. I want to network the thing and go into the windows wireless network wizard. So far no prob. But then it tells me that I can create it with a USB stick that needs to be inserted in computer nr 1 (no problem), and then IN THE ROUTER ???? My qiestion is, how do i go from there. One can not stick a USB stick in a router. How does one make those 2 computers talk together? Firewalls are temp disabled, there is no WEP/WAP encryption yet. Hence I do not tell you where i live........ But how do I setup my network?

thanks and Cheers

Johan

383011 2005-08-22 21:20:00 If both can access the wireles network and get on the net why are you running the wireless network configuration again?
Are you wanting to have access to shared files / printers on each computer?

383012 2005-08-22 21:40:00 Sounds like they are already networked, if they are in the same workgroup, with a different IP in the same range you just need to share a folder on each computer across the network to be able to see each computer. Rob99 (151)
383013 2005-08-23 00:41:00 Thanks, tried that. But they do not see each other, although they both render the same network name if asked....... That is why I first thought it must be the firewall, so switched that ioff but still they do not see each other....... hotkiwi (6379)
