Also have used HoverSnap which is on the following page (scroll down, take a look at the other free utilities there too):

383747 2005-08-26 03:23:00 Hi rsbluck. Depending on the workload or the need, have you considered just using your PrintScreen key and modifying, cropping, adding text, etc., in Word - where the PrintScreen is available through the Office Clipboard?
All of those mentioned previously I have tried and they work okay. I know you looked for a freebee, but sometime have a free trial of Snagit and then treat yourself. The most fabulous capture tool for creating news items, magazines, training notes and the like. Highly recommended.

383748 2005-08-26 15:54:00 Wisdom-Soft ScreenHunter is free, easy to use and lets you capture either a rectangle, the active window, or the whol screen. It saves the image to File, or to the Clipboard, in jpeg, bmp, or gif formats. ScreenHunter freezes the screen when you press the hotkey alowing the capture of stills from video. Vince (406)

383751 2005-08-27 09:50:00 I have used PrintScreen 2000 for some years - works well but I don't know whether it works with XP. Can't remember the download site but the download file is pscreen.zip. A search should find it if it is still available.

383752 2005-08-27 11:40:00 just use paint or any other photo editing software you have - press printscreen key & paste as new image in software - save as a jpg, or as mentioned - in Word - I often use Word in a clients pc when trying to teach them something - then they have a printout of the various buttons, tools etc. quarry (252)
