| 383717 | 2005-08-25 23:53:00 | Just got one of those free broadband modem packages from xtra and was wondering if I have to use their installation CD or can it be done manually. I am not a big fan of installation CDs as a rule - don't much like company logos & non essential programs that sometimes come with them. Cheers |

| 383721 | 2005-08-26 10:55:00 | Thanks - just checked and it was set to allow comp to shut this device down. That could have put me in a bit of a tailspin. Installation was smooth and seems to be running well - definitely alot better than my old dialup  | wlowscrk (395) | ||

| 383723 | 2005-08-26 12:33:00 | get a grip child, The thread starter is just showing some commen sense, have a look on the average PC that has had an Xtra supplied CD run on it and take note of the browser branding and Xtra software located around the place. And as for that retarded flash interface that brings a comp to its knees if it doesn't have the correct flah player installed, For crying out loud. If it was me I would take a hammer to those Xtra cd's. And I tell ya what, If one more of my clients ring me in a bother because the Xtra help desk instructed them to uninstall their Anti-Virus im gonna have a go at the bloddy fools with a bat. Rant over. Dont trust Xtra for a second. |

Once had a telecom service person tell me my modem was probably not configured right and I should get an "expert" in to do it for me. He would not take into consideration that it had been working perfectly for a couple of years and had only just gone haywire. Turned out to be a short in an electric fence up on the road - second service guy found it in 5 mins. | wlowscrk (395) | ||
