| 383823 | 2005-08-26 22:32:00 | McAfee just finished, and it found no such thing of winupdate virus yet trend micro did. I guess it's time to uninstall McAfee and re-install Norton. :help: | MasturJeff (7803) | ||
| 383824 | 2005-08-26 22:46:00 | What deleted those entries u posted before? The online scan?? If that /auto thing for Gaobot is no longer in startup, I wouldnt worry too much about it. That would have been the main file, it needed to run. Ok, I shall check this # u posted. |

The winupdate files are still in my C: Program Files directory, i'm going to have to go in safemode and delete them . I'm disappointed that the latest McAfee Update could not detect this . |

| 383827 | 2005-08-26 23:21:00 | Hey speedy, just a quick question. I have 256RAM on my PC already and a virus scan takes up like 90% of my PC's Resources. If I get 256 more ram and make it 512, will that make my Virus Scans run faster, or will the scans still go at the same rate but I'll be able to do more stuff in the foreground while the Virus Scanner runs in the background? | MasturJeff (7803) | ||
| 383828 | 2005-08-26 23:28:00 | The more ram for XP the better . If the system is slow booting, extra ram may also make it boot faster into XP . (This may also depend on what kind of RAM the system uses - ie: SD or DDR Ram) . And yup, if you have more ram, you'll be able to do more in the background as well . Well depending on what it is . If u do things like video editing or burning cd's / dvd's etc it may not like it . |

Depending on how many memory slots it has (2, 3 or 4), If 2, you'll have to get 2 512mb sticks if u want 1 GB . If 4 (which I dont think so), you could get 2 256mb sticks . |
