384449 2005-08-29 04:08:00 I have an ASUS A2500D laptop, running Windows XP Home.
It will not let Windows XP Service Pack 2 install. It goes through most of the process but at the end, fails without any error code.
I have tried installing from the windows update - failed, install from a cd - failed, install in safe mode - failed.
Any suggestions?

384450 2005-08-29 04:34:00 i'ts possible to install it if you get a xp cd wiht sp2 slipstreamed into it (merged into the xp setup cd) and then run a 'repair' install.....that'll quite often work ok...... drcspy (146)
384451 2005-08-29 08:05:00 Yeah, its a pain, allright, :badpc:
I just finshed loading XPsp2 about 1/2 hour ago, what a headache, i tried over and over again, nothing would work until i finished up using" Power Max", done a low level format, then the very first time, it installed, no worries.
good luck

384452 2005-08-29 09:01:00 You can use the following program Nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/) to integrate SP2 into XP and create a freshly integrated new bootable XP cd.

Integrating service packs is one of its features Screenshot Here (www.nliteos.com)

I havent used it for integrating Service packs as I have integrated SP2 into a fresh XP but it should do the trick easily.
