| 384427 | 2005-08-29 03:58:00 | Hi all Another quick question while I am at it. I am looking at doing a bios update. I have had this bios unchanged for three years now and there are a couple of reasons for me to finally update now (To properly support my CPU and also to enable me to use my USB 2.0 card without rebooting and reinstalling the driver every time). My question is I am using bios version 1.3 for my mobo (Soltek SL-75DRV5) and there have been updates of 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6 since this one. Do I have to update each bios one by one in order or can I just updat straight to version 1.6 and be done with it? Thanks in advance. Off to google some good instructions on how the whole update process works. |

| 384429 | 2005-08-29 05:54:00 | Thanks Metla The reason I have gone googling for the best instructions is that I can't find any instructions on Soltek's website. I found the latest BIOS update easily enough and have downloaded that but no help there on flashing the BIOS or even any links to the correct flashing software. Everest tells me that my BIOS is an Award BIOS and the type is Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG but if I click on these links it just takes me to a pay page where for $29.99US they will sort out all the woes of the world (and my BIOS) for me. Somehow that just don't seem right!! Anyhow, thanks for the advice. Off to find the right BIOS flashing software. |

Don't feel stupid, at the place I do work experience, myself and one of the techs got caught out like that. I had only flashed one BIOS before, and it certainly never came with the BIOS flasher app within the package |
