2005-08-29 03:36:00 | Hi all. I have made a wee slideshow on my nice new PC using WMM V5.1. When viewing it on the 19" LCD monitor, I only see part of the picture and the resolution is yucky. However, when I view it on my old PC (19" CRT) it is fine. Can anyone offer any suggestions (and yes, I have tried changing the screen resolution on the LCD monitor but that doesn't fix the problem). No doubt it's something really simple... Thanks.

2005-08-29 22:15:00 | Thanks, but that did not help me. I have tried viewing the WMV file on four PCs and three are good but the new one is hopeless. I can see the middle third of the picture and it is like looking at a digital photo at extremely high magnification. Everything is so big that it is difficult to see any detail. I have fiddled about with the resolution on the new PC but I am now pretty much convinced that that is not the issue. I would appreciate an answer to this problem, but not too technical please. My eyes tend to glaze over if I have to think too hard :) | k8smum (6062) | |
2005-08-29 22:39:00 | Are you viewing it in windows media player?. If so, right click on the Media player screen and check that video size is set to 100%. You could also make sure the top two options are ticked. This may help?....

2005-08-29 23:05:00 | Thanks. I have done as you suggest. The settings you mention were selected by default - video 100% and top two options ticked. For what it's worth, I have also tried viewing it using Creative MediaSource with exactly the same result. | k8smum (6062) | |
2005-08-29 23:14:00 | Its new? Surely it was provided with some level of suport? Ring the place you got it from, Any shop worth its salt will bend over backwards to ensure you are happy with your new system. Unless of course you went cut-price or applience store.....

2005-08-29 23:40:00 | Cut price?? I don't think so! $4,730.63 to be precise. Assembled and shipped from overseas - Singapore, I think. I have just had a bit of a hunt around and there is an email for support, as well as an 0800 number. I might try one or both if I get no further assistance here. I assumed that the answer was probably something quite simple, at least for a technical person. Thanks anyhow. P.S: If you could care less and if you were willing to explain to me how to get the info onto this forum, I would be happy to show you exactly what we got for our money. :D
