| 384191 | 2005-08-28 03:27:00 | I have a problem with my creative soundblaster live 5.1. I recently installed Fedora Core 3 on a dual boot machine with win xp. Now i have lost my surround sound. Only front speakers working.Have reinstalled soundcard driver checked windows setting. When installing sound card driver driver installs fine but the software package will not install correctly. Everything seems fine when installing but install does not create exe files for surround mixer etc. This is the first time this has happend. Any help would be great. |

Are all 5 working in Linux (You may need to use alsamixer or the likes to turn up the Surround PCM). Have you set it in the Control Panel under Multimedia/Sounds to be 5.1 Channel Speaker output rather than 2x Desktop Speakers like its set to by default? Cheers Chill. |

| 384193 | 2005-08-28 03:54:00 | Speakers in windows are set to 5.1. I just noticed that the rear speakers are actually going and my sub woofer is not but i need to change the balance a bit. Thats where im having the trouble the creative surround mixer and other creative software will not install correctly so i cannot not use then. I have been installing the drivers and software off the supplied cd . I did revert back to my onboard sound for a bit but have changed back to the creative because my speaker setup requires bass redirection so i can use the sub | NickB (8795) | ||
