I spend almost all my disposable income on music CDs, which isn't much since I'm a student. Do all of you buy as much as you can afford? |

2005-08-30 01:40:00 | The BEST P2P network is DC++ (direct connect hubs), no contest. Bittorrent and there clones don't even come close. Guys that take the time to try DC++ in decent hubs never go back to using BT. BT is just the newer mainstream Kazaa for people that havent used anything else. Internation DC hubs often have 1TB plus in hubs with maybe only 5000 users which is a great non leech ratio, this means you can find your legal (cough) say movie within seconds, and be downloading it nearly immediately at you full bandwidth speed if your using a a multiple source client like Revconnect DC++. Only drawback is , it is not a leech network, you may need to share 10-100gig+ of real shareware(cough) depending on the hub. I have tried BT many many times, and with DC++ there is no need for the pain of BT.

2005-08-30 03:27:00 | picabyte? 10^-12 bytes? :D | Graham L (2) | |
2005-08-30 07:33:00 | picabyte? 10^-12 bytes? :D Actually no 1000 GB is a terabyte. 1000 TB is a pecabyte. (seen 2 different spelling's for this) 1000 PB is an exabyte. 1000 EB is a zettabyte. 1000 ZB is a yottabyte. 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 MB in a yottabyte. 1 petabyte = 1.12589991 × 10^15 bytes :waughh:

2005-09-01 00:22:00 | Actually, isn't it: 1024 GB is a Terabyte 1024 TB is a Pecabyte etc ...?

2005-09-01 13:51:00 | Don't use P2P. Too many things u can get (by accident, or whether u want/like it or not) thru P2P. ie: viruses/trojans/worms etc. I use eXeem and eMule. They are good. eXeem is very fast and can download at your full speed if enough seeds. I regulary get 240KB/sec. Sucks the usage though. I only use it for downloading those TV programs that the TV stations and Sky never seem to like playing or are that far behind the 8 ball it is pathetic. Desperate Housewives is a good example. Only just started here but was out nearly a year ago in the US. No worms or virii in avi's (not yet anyway)
